Stamping for the countryside since the Roman invasion and economical factors for this region.
Many expressions were formed out of the Latin language:
Wine (vinum), vine - dresser (vintor), must (mostum), cellar (cellarium) and cellarman (cuparis).

The terraced cultivation is performed since the10th century and is stamping for the countryside of this region.
The wine cultivation area of the "Middlerhine" area is today cultivated with only 600ha of wine plants. Preferred are the schist and greywacke efflorescence, which are perfect for the Riesling wine. The most popular wine - plants of this area are: Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Spätburgunder.

We still have the wine - cellars in old stone vaults, were the wine is traditionally in wood - barrels.
Many of the wine - cellars are opened for delicious wine tastings, because wine tastes the best where it is produced. Wine tastings are possible everywhere at the Loreley.
